Up and Personal: KPOP Collection~

Today when I woke up 2 new albums that I ordered two weeks ago came in from the mail today I had to figure out where to put them so I took out my KPOP stuff and try to make the albums fit haha! It's not that I have a lot of KPOP stuff it's just I lack space where I keep them tsk. hahaha I really need to get a big plastic container for my things and since I had to take them out I decided to take a photo of them for fun~

These are things I've collected for over a year now~
I bought them all at an online shop in Facebook called K-On Shop
The owner is nice and very dependable so if you're interested to buy Kpop albums or other Kpop stuff like lightsticks, ballers, bags, magazines, etc click on the link, look through their products and find the order form ^^

Out and About: Binondo (China Town) Food Trip

Last Saturday my high school friends and I went on an adventure a food trip + shopping adventure to be exact. We visited Binondo which was the China town in Manila. We used a food trip map that one of my friends bought at the mall and used that as our map to go around Binondo. We left Pasig at 11am and arrived around past 12 or maybe around 1pm? It was really traffic on the way so it took us a while to get there and the car ride was really fun and painful because we were all laughing on how we're all so hungry haha.

Tourist Photo :))
So when we finally arrived we first went to Mezzanine cafe for lunch then after adventure begins and we went around to get the stuff our parents asked us to buy. It was fun because it was like a scavenger hunt and we really had to go to different places to find them. We bought La Resurrecion Chocolate tableas, Hopia, Mochi and other famous delicacies from Binondo that our parents asked us to buy. We also went to the Binondo church and sta there for a while 'til we figured out where we were going next. It was beautiful inside and it was our first time so we made a wish too haha ^^ After a few more stops we went to Wei Yang fastfood which was a famous dumpling place and after that was our last for the food trip which was Masuki which was famous for their beef noodles and hot buns but it's now called Ma Mon Luk I think haha and some of us had noodles and some had hot buns and that was it for the food trip because we were really tired and were too full to eat at other restos haha after that we went to look some more for the other stuff that we still needed to buy then last stop was Hol-land bake shop i think? haha to buy some more hopia and mochi.

CUTE BABY!!!!

So much stuff I wanted to buy here! >_<

Lost kids hahaha :))

Hakaw (Shrimp dumplings)

Big special siopao O_o

After that we went back to the car and went home. It was fun because some of us have never been there or maybe they have but not really went around so yey! We'll come back next time and try the other restaurants that we missed!

I really recommend that people take a Binondo tour of their own whether it's with their families or friends. There are a lot of things to see and food to eat and buy. Although if you really want to go to a lot of places go there early and go on an empty stomach so you can really eat a lot ^^

Lopez Museum Talk: About Face Exhibit

I know this is late but  Last July 16  Lopez Museum invited contemporary artists to do a talk and answer some questions as a part of their most recent exhibit, About Facefor the museum’s 150th birth commemoration of Dr. Jose Rizal. There were four contemporary artists that participated including, Alvin Zafra, Renan Ortiz, Louie Talents and Vermont Coronel and each of them shared about their lives like how they have started, the struggles they faced and how their artworks developed or evolved ever since they have started doing art.
 During the open forum:
L-R: Talents (Cauterizing), Vernon (Street Art), Ortiz (Rizal Portrait at the front of the museum), Zafra (Bullet Portraits)
Their artworks for the About Face Exhibit:
Ortiz

You can see Rizal's reflection below.

Coronel
The stencil he used for the old mans portrait below it's made out of used elction poster

 Talents

Foreign bible's when he was studying in Europe

He burned the letters and left the ones that can spell his name which was Louie.

This is called cauterizing where in he uses match sticks or cigarette butts to burn the letter and words

Zafra

He used his nails to make this portrait of Emelda Marcos.

Each of them had different art techniques and styles that they use in doing their art. What’s really interesting is that some of their techniques are really different that people especially who don’t follow art trends wouldn’t think that these artworks or styles would be considered art like bullet portraits, graffiti or street ar and Bible burning or cauterizing.

If you have time it's a must to see their artworks as well as the other artworks in the museum. The exhibit can be found at the Lopez Museum that's located at the Benpress Building near Philippine Stock Exchange in Ortigas.
